FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Algebra Tutoring

  • What are your hours and do you teach online? ▾

We are open 7 days a week at our 3301 Fillmore Street location in Pacific Heights. We offer both in-center and online sessions — so whether your schedule calls for in-person or virtual, we can accommodate you. Contact us directly for current session times and availability.

  • When should my child start preparing for Algebra? ▾

The ideal window is 9–12 months before their first Algebra course — typically late 5th or early 6th grade for most San Francisco middle schools. That window gives us time to build each foundation skill properly so Algebra feels like a natural next step rather than a sudden wall. That said, students at any stage benefit — we meet them where they are and build forward from there.

  • Do you prepare students for high school Geometry and Algebra 2? ▾

Yes — and it's one of the most common goals for our 7th and 8th grade families. We build the specific skills that make high school Geometry and Algebra 2 feel manageable before the course even begins: spatial reasoning, ratio fluency, coordinate thinking, and logical reasoning. Students who arrive with those foundations already in place don't just keep up — they lead.
