  Mathnasium of Belsize Park is at 6 England’s Lane, Belsize Park, London NW3 4TG. England’s Lane is a short walk from Belsize Park Underground station on the Northern line and sits between Haverstock Hill and Primrose Hill.  

  Street parking is available on nearby roads outside peak restriction hours, and the centre is easy to reach on foot from across NW3.

• What year groups does Mathnasium of Belsize Park work with?

  Mathnasium of Belsize Park works with children from Reception through to GCSE: children aged 4 to 16, covering all Key Stages from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to KS4.

• How do you teach maths? Which curriculum do you use?

  We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach, and not a one-size-fits-all curriculum.  

  Our approach combines personalised learning plans with proven teaching techniques to promote deep understanding over memorization. That understanding is what lets them transfer skills to new problems, including the kinds of unfamiliar questions that entrance exams and GCSE papers are specifically designed to include. 

  Our instructors combine mental, verbal, visual, tactile and written techniques, guided by each child’s personalised learning plan. This makes the approach particularly well-suited to Belsize Park, where children may be working within different national curricula or preparing for assessments that look very different from one family to the next.

  Yes! Mathnasium of Belsize Park supports students preparing for 7+ and 11+ entrance assessments for independent schools in and around the NW3 area. 

  We recommend starting 11+ preparation in Year 4 or early Year 5. For 7+ entry, the timeline is naturally shorter, and we build a programme around what the child needs to cover before their assessment date. 

• Do you prepare students for GCSE maths?

  Yes, our instructors work with Year 10 and Year 11 students on personalised GCSE preparation plans built around their current level, target grade and the specific topics that need the most work. We cover the full GCSE maths curriculum across both Foundation and Higher tiers: number, algebra, geometry, ratio, probability and statistics. 

  For students in independent or selective secondary schools where the expectation is a grade 7, 8 or 9, we help them reach that standard with a targeted plan that uses their time efficiently and builds the depth of understanding that Higher tier questions demand. 

• Do you prepare children for SATs?

  Yes. We support Year 6 children preparing for their KS2 SATs maths papers, working through both the Arithmetic and Reasoning components with a personalised plan focused on each child's specific areas of difficulty. We also support Year 4 children ahead of the Multiplication Tables Check.   

• Do you offer online maths tutoring?

  Yes. Mathnasium@Home provides live, face-to-face online sessions delivered in real time by our specially trained instructors.  

  Children follow the same personalised learning plan online as they would in centre, so the quality and structure of the support is identical. It’s a convenient option for families who travel frequently or whose schedule doesn’t always allow for in-centre sessions. 

• Can my child combine in-centre and online sessions?

  Yes! Many families at Mathnasium of Belsize Park choose a hybrid approach, splitting sessions between our centre on England's Lane and online through Mathnasium@home. 

  This approach works well for families managing after-school clubs, travel or unpredictable schedules, since a missed in-centre slot can often be picked up online instead. Whichever format a session takes, it follows the same personalised learning plan and is delivered by the same specially trained instructor, so your child's progress stays consistent either way. 

• How much does maths tutoring cost at Mathnasium of Belsize Park?

  Mathnasium of Belsize Park operates on a flat monthly membership fee.  

  After the diagnostic assessment, we will recommend a session schedule based on your child’s personalised learning plan and goals. Most children attend two to three sessions per week.
