At Mathnasium of Bromsgrove, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help children truly understand maths and build foundations for lasting mastery.
Our approach combines personalised learning plans with a range of teaching techniques, so we can meet each child exactly where they are on their maths journey and guide them forward at the right pace.
Mathnasium of Bromsgrove's specially trained instructors work with children from Reception through to GCSE at our centre on the High Street, or online via Mathnasium@home.
Sessions take place in a caring and fun environment, where each child receives individual, face-to-face instruction guided by their own personalised learning plan.
Every child at Mathnasium of Bromsgrove begins enrolment with a diagnostic assessment, giving us an accurate picture of what they already know, where the knowledge gaps are, and how they approach maths.
From there, we build a personalised learning plan that closes knowledge gaps in the correct order, so each new topic sits on solid ground rather than papering over what came before.

Specially Trained and Caring Team
James Groves
Instructor
Hi, I'm James! I've always had a passion for maths. I studied A Levels in Maths, Physics, and Business, with Maths being my favourite by far, and I love the chance to pass that enthusiasm on to others.
While I didn't have a tutor myself growing up, I've seen how much of a difference a good teacher can make - turning tricky topics into something manageable and building real confidence along the way. That's what I aim to bring to every session: clear, approachable, and engaging maths tutoring.
Outside of Mathnasium, I enjoy watching football, cooking, and playing the guitar.
Mareeya Basharet
Instructor
Hi, I'm Mareeya! I recently completed my Bachelor's degree, and throughout my four years at university I had the opportunity to work as a maths tutor. Somewhere along the way, I realised that teaching maths wasn't just a job for me - it was something I genuinely loved.
After graduating, I knew I wanted to continue combining my love for maths with my passion for teaching, so I was delighted to join the Mathnasium team. Whether it's helping students build strong foundations, understand a new concept, or approach a challenging problem creatively, it's incredibly rewarding to see that moment when everything clicks. Maths is fundamental to so much of the world around us, and I feel honoured to help children develop not just their mathematical skills, but the problem-solving and critical-thinking skills they'll carry throughout life.
Outside of teaching, you'll usually find me with a good book in hand - I've always loved reading for the way it lets me explore new ideas, perspectives, and stories.
Kirtan Samra
Instructor
Hi, I'm Kirtan! I'm currently in my second year at King Edward VI College, Stourbridge, studying Maths, Physics, and Politics - with Maths being my clear favourite.
I've had a maths tutor for as long as I can remember, and I know first-hand how much of a difference the right support can make; it's a big part of why I'm where I am today. That's exactly why I love working at Mathnasium - I want every child I teach to feel that same impact. I believe maths with a tutor shouldn't feel like a lesson, but an activity that's enjoyable, challenging, and rewarding all at once.
Outside of Mathnasium, you'll find me watching movies, reading comics, playing football, or spending time with my dog.
Whether they would like to attend sessions in-centre or online, students can take 3 easy steps to enrol at Mathnasium.
All students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints what they already know and what they still need to learn.

We work with children from Reception through to GCSE, ages 4 to 16, spanning all key stages from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to KS4.
Some families come to us to help their child build solid foundations early, others are looking for maths enrichment or a focused support heading into GCSEs. Whatever your students maths goal, we have a programme to fit.
Our instructors support children across the full primary and secondary maths curriculum, including number, fractions, decimals and percentages, algebra, ratio, geometry, statistics and trigonometry, at every level from KS1 through to KS4.
Sessions are shaped by each child's personalised learning plan, which means a Year 3 child working on times tables and a Year 10 child preparing for GCSE mocks will each get exactly the focus they need.
With a private tutor, the structure of each session tends to depend on what the child walks in with that day. Mathnasium of Bromsgrove focuses on building true understanding and lasting maths mastery instead.
Every child is assessed before sessions begin, and their learning is shaped by a personalised plan built around their individual knowledge gaps and goals. Our instructors follow the Mathnasium Method™, a structured, consistent teaching approach used across 1,300+ centres worldwide, so progress is systematic rather than reactive.
Sessions take place in a supportive centre environment where children receive personalised instruction, build confidence alongside their peers, and develop the kind of consistent habits that make a real difference over time.
At Mathnasium of Bromsgrove, we do not follow a standard curriculum. We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach developed to help students of all skill levels truly understand and even enjoy maths.
Following the Mathnasium Method™, our instructors combine mental, verbal, visual, tactile and written teaching techniques with personalised, assessment-based learning plans to tailor instruction to how each student learns best.
As students (re)build their maths foundations and expand mathematical thinking, we also allocate time for homework help, so sessions can complement what children are covering in school under the National Curriculum.
Mathnasium of Bromsgrove works with children of all skill levels, whether they need to catch up, keep up with their year group or they are ready to get ahead.
At our centre, children who are finding maths difficult can interact with the subject at their own pace and in a low-pressure environment. We build upon what they already know and close knowledge gaps methodically so each new topic has solid ground beneath it. As students progress, our caring instructors celebrate every win, no matter how big or small, building both skills and confidence to succeed.
Children who are ahead of their year group enjoy the same personalised approach focused on enrichment, which can introduce them to maths beyond the school curriculum. Our advanced learners stay challenged and motivated to advance, as we work on deepening their understanding and preparing them to achieve their goals, from excelling on entrance exams, competitions or simply tackling more demanding work.
Each student is given a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints their strengths, knowledge gaps, and unique goals, so that we can create a personalised learning plan that will put them on the best path to maths mastery.
Yes! Mathnasium of Bromsgrove supports children preparing for the 11+, including entry to schools such as Bromsgrove School and RGS Worcester, Cognitive Ability Test (CAT), as well as 13+ Common Entrance for independent senior school entry.
As each school sets its own exam content and timeline, we build every child's plan around their specific target school, focusing on the numerical reasoning and problem-solving skills these exams test, with enough time to close any gaps before the exam date.
Yes, our instructors support Year 10 and Year 11 children through their GCSE maths preparation with a personalised plan built around their current performance, target grade and the topics where they most need to improve.
We can cover the full GCSE maths curriculum, including number, algebra, geometry, ratio, probability and statistics, across both Foundation and Higher tiers.
Yes, we help Year 6 children prepare for their KS2 SATs maths papers, working through both the Arithmetic and Reasoning papers, and support Year 2 children with their KS1 teacher assessments.
We use the diagnostic assessment to identify the specific concepts that need reinforcing, then build those into the child's learning plan.
We also support Year 4 children preparing for the Multiplication Tables Check.
Tuition at Mathnasium of Bromsgrove is priced as a flat monthly membership fee rather than a per-session rate, much like a gym membership. We recommend most children attend two to three sessions a week for optimal results.
Following the diagnostic assessment, we will recommend a session plan tailored to your child's learning needs and goals.
Start by getting in touch through the Contact Us button on this page or by emailing [email protected]. We will arrange a free diagnostic assessment to build an accurate picture of where your child is in their maths and what type of support they need most.
After the assessment, we will walk you through the results and the personalised learning plan we have put together for your child, and answer any questions before sessions begin.
