Remi studied International Business, Economics and Politics with an emphasis on accounting at Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo. Whilst living in Japan, she deepened her appreciation of maths as it was integral to her earlier career development. Working in the financial services' software industry, Remi supported and educated clients in their usage and understanding of the financial modelling the maths engine provided and developed internal communication workflows and content creation capabilities.
Remi settled in North London eleven years ago, and her two children happily attend school in Muswell Hill. She loves to help and watch her elder child's growth in his love for the subject and become the sweetest numeracy mentor to his younger sister. But most of all, Remi loves engaging in the community for the direct benefit of the children. She is passionate about creating a fun, engaging and inspiring environment that empowers our Mathnasium students with the twin tools of numeracy and problem solving that are so valuable to have in life. She also enjoys yoga.
Milly studied animal science and worked as a vet nurse for 2 years, but she has always loved maths and thinks that it is the foundation of all knowledge and all life. In her spare time she plays the piano, paints and reads books about maths & mathematicians through the ages. Before working at Mathnasium, Milly spent a year in South Africa caring for injured wildlife, but eventually wanted a more challenging and mentally stimulating occupation. She finds teaching children really rewarding and loves to see them developing a true understanding & enjoyment of maths.
Paniz is a Maths postgrad who stumbled into a career as a translator following the completion of her Masters. She serendipitously stumbled upon Mathnasium while needing a change and has relished the focus back on Maths. She finds satisfaction in the linear logic and concrete solutions, but also the creativity available in higher mathematics, all codifying universal truths and serving as the ultimate language. She has found getting to know the students extremely enriching and is committed to helping them increase their ease, enthusiasm and achievement in maths.
Can is about to start his second year of A-Levels studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry and hopes to either pursue a degree in Chemistry or a joint Maths Computer Science degree. His favourite parts about Maths are difficult trigonometry and algebra. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the park and spending time with friends. He hopes to move out of London for university, aspiring for Oxford.
Farhan enjoys studying and teaching Maths. Having previously tutored Maths & Mandarin for 3 years, he is excited to share his skills with his students. Cracking the answers to the most difficult Maths problems gives him great satisfaction. He has entered and received awards in competitive challenges such as the UKMT Maths Challenge and the British Physics Olympiad. Farhan is a swimmer, pianist, and competitive Karateka, preparing for his black belt grading. He enjoys reading 1800s novels and travelling abroad.
Syeda is currently in her first year of A Levels, studying Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Biology. She likes how maths is a universal language that connects people through its consistent logics and principles. She likes teaching because she can share the satisfaction of being able to solve a complex problem whilst watching the students grow in confidence. Outside of teaching, Syeda enjoys playing the piano and learning Mandarin.
Michael is in his first year of A-Levels, studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Computer Science. He aspires to attend Cambridge University, hoping to study pure Maths. In his spare time, Michael enjoys football, basketball, and bodybuilding. Michael has helped his friends with Maths throughout his school life and has now decided to work for Mathnasium in order to expand on his ability to support others!
Walt is currently studying A-Level Maths, Physics and Economics. He takes enjoyment in all things logical and shares that passion with students. In his spare time, Walt enjoys pursuing his love of Mandarin, and one day hopes to take his studies of Maths and Economics to China!
Kalki is a fourth year medical student at UCL, with an iBSc in Medical Anthropology. She hopes to become a women's health specialist and work in health inequality. She enjoys working with children and really loves the problem solving side of maths. Before Mathnasium, Kalki worked as a makeup artist! In her spare time, Kalki enjoys watching sports and hanging out with her friends.
Stella is in her first year of A-Levels, studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Spanish. She hopes to pursue a career in STEM and is a strong advocate for gender equality in this field. She enjoys the creative aspects of learning, and aims to bring fun into her teaching! Outside of teaching, Stella likes to explore art, music and language; she has plans to eventually spend time studying abroad in South America.
