• What are your opening hours?

  Our instructional hours are: 

  • Monday to Thursday: 3:30pm – 7:30pm 

  • Friday: Closed 

  • Saturday: 10:00am – 2:00pm 

  • Sunday: Closed 

  Our office is open Monday to Friday from 10:00am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm. 

  From 21st December 2026 to 2nd January 2027, our instructional hours change to Monday–Thursday, 10am–2pm, and Saturday, 10am–2pm. We're closed on Bank Holiday Monday, 28th December.

• What year groups does Mathnasium of Guildford work with?

  We work with children from Reception through to GCSE, ages 4 to 16, across all Key Stages from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to KS4.

• How do you teach maths? Which curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Guildford, our teaching is aligned with the National Curriculum, while allowing us to tailor learning to each individual child. We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help children develop strong maths skills and understanding, whatever their current level.

  Our instructors combine mental, verbal, visual, tactile and written techniques with personalised, assessment-based learning plans. This allows us to support what children are learning at school while identifying and addressing any underlying gaps that may be holding them back.

  
  

• Does Mathnasium support children who are already doing well in maths?

  Absolutely. Mathnasium isn’t only for children who are struggling or have gaps in their knowledge. We also work with many children who are already confident in maths, including those working ahead of their year group.

  Our assessment helps us understand exactly what each child already knows and where they are ready to be challenged further. We can then introduce more advanced topics, develop their reasoning and problem-solving skills, and provide the right level of challenge to keep them engaged and progressing.

  
  

• Does Mathnasium of Guildford offer 11+ maths preparation?

  Yes, we support children preparing for 11+ and independent school entrance assessments, with a particular focus on developing the numerical reasoning, problem-solving and mathematical fluency these exams require. 

  We start by assessing each child to identify their individual strengths and any areas that need further development. We then create a personalised programme combining targeted maths instruction with 11+ problem-solving, exam technique and practice, helping students become confident tackling both familiar and unfamiliar questions. 

  For children already working above their year group, we can also introduce more advanced maths to ensure they continue to be appropriately challenged. 

• Do you offer GCSE maths tutoring?

  Yes, our instructors support Year 10 and Year 11 children through their GCSE maths preparation with a personalised plan built around their current performance, target grade and the topics they most need to work on. 

  We cover the full GCSE maths curriculum, including number, algebra, geometry, ratio, probability and statistics, across both Foundation and Higher tiers. 

• Why do you require an assessment for enrolment?

  Each child completes a diagnostic assessment that identifies their strengths, knowledge gaps and individual goals, giving us everything we need to build a personalised learning plan that puts them on the best path to maths mastery. 

• How much does maths tutoring cost at Mathnasium of Guildford?

  Tuition at Mathnasium of Guildford is priced as a flat monthly membership fee rather than a per-session rate, much like a gym membership. Most children see the best results attending two to three sessions a week. 

  Following the diagnostic assessment, we will recommend a session plan tailored to your child's learning needs and goals. 

• Do you offer school collection?

  Mathnasium of Guildford offers a school collection service from Holy Trinity Junior School on selected weekdays. Children are collected by our team and brought directly to our London Road centre for their maths session, giving local families a convenient option for fitting maths tuition around the school day.
