Afreen is the Center Director at the Mathnasium of Chatsworth. She has a Master's degree in Math and Science and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Science. After completing her education, she worked as an assistant to the Professor of Science. She is actively involved in her kid ’s classroom as a parent volunteer, and there she developed a passion for working with children. Her story: Afreen's relationship with Mathnasium began in early 2016 when she enrolled her daughter in the neighborhood Mathnasium learning center. She noticed that within a few months her daughter’s overall confidence and interest in Math had spiked dramatically. Afreen was very impressed with the Mathnasium program and realized that there is a need for a place like Mathnasium where students could receive further enrichment and instruction outside of school. She experienced that when students struggle in math, it not only frustrates the parents but also affects students' future learning. Looking at the effectiveness of the Mathnasium method of teaching, Afreen decided to open a Mathnasium center in the Chatsworth area to help the children build a strong foundation in math. She believes that every student can succeed and even excel in math with the proper tools and support. Mathnasium has that amazing method of teaching math to the children in a way that makes math sense to them. Afreen is looking forward to empowering the children in the community with math skills which will boost their confidence level and make them great problem solvers.
