TJ earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia. Since joining Mathnasium in 2019, he has served in several roles, including Instructor, Team Captain, Center Director, and now Assistant Center Director. His deep-rooted love of math drives his passion for helping students succeed.
Outside of the center, TJ enjoys cooking vegetarian meals, reading, and staying active. He’s also a Boston Celtics fan and speaks both German and Gujarati, the latter spoken in Gujarat, India. TJ brings curiosity, cultural awareness, and enthusiasm to every student interaction.
Austin holds a degree in Mathematics from James Madison University and has been with Mathnasium since 2019. He’s led multiple centers as Center Director and now supports teams across locations in his role as Area Manager.
Austin’s enthusiasm for math and education is matched by his creative side—he minored in film studies and enjoys filmmaking, podcasting, and reading in his free time. His goal is to help students and teams grow with clarity and confidence.
Jeff earned a degree in Economics from James Madison University before shifting career paths to education. He later completed a Master’s in Education at George Mason University and spent ten years teaching math at both the high school and college levels. His leadership experience also includes operations and training roles with two national restaurant brands.
Now back in the world of math education, Jeff brings passion and expertise to his role at Mathnasium. When not working to change lives through math, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife of 28 years, their two dogs, and visiting their three grown children.
James discovered his love for math during middle and high school and went on to earn a Mathematics degree from the University of Virginia in 2000. He then served seven years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft maintenance officer, where he also began tutoring homeschooled students.
That experience helped him understand the challenges many kids face with math. In 2007, he returned to UVA to earn his MBA from the Darden School of Business. Today, James leads with a mission to empower students and remove the intimidation around learning math.
