Daniel holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Wake Forest University. Before opening Mathnasium centers, Daniel served as a prosecuting attorney and now works as an elected District Court Judge in Kentucky’s 12th Judicial District. He also brings experience as a former secondary school educator.
Daniel is passionate about the transformative power of math education and its role in developing critical thinking skills. He is proud to bring the Mathnasium Method™ to local communities and is committed to helping students become confident problem solvers and lifelong learners.
Reed is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Washington & Lee University and earned his M.A. in Social Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University. With a background in teaching history at both the secondary and college levels, Reed values a well-rounded education that includes strong STEM instruction alongside the humanities.
As a co-owner of Mathnasium, Reed is dedicated to transforming how students understand and enjoy math. He believes that strong math skills open doors to countless opportunities and is excited to help students build lasting confidence and critical thinking abilities.
Mike is a retired scientist with a passion for teaching. He spent over a decade teaching meteorology and computer science at the University of Louisville and has tutored students in math from arithmetic through calculus. In addition to teaching at Mathnasium, he also instructs at Ivy Tech.
Mike brings real-world science experience and a lifelong love of learning to every session. He enjoys helping students make meaningful connections in math and build confidence. Outside the classroom, Mike enjoys gardening, hiking, music, and all things science-related.
Joan is a retired educational audiologist who spent 30 years supporting students ages 3 to 21. With a long-standing interest in math, she joined Mathnasium after being recruited by a colleague who remembered her dream of teaching algebra.
Joan enjoys working with students again and aims to help each child build confidence and a love for learning. She lives in Jeffersonville with her husband and enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, volunteering at her church, and cheering on the Indiana Hoosiers.
Callie recently moved to Louisville from the Chicagoland area and is a first-year PsyD student at Spalding University. She holds a B.A. in neuroscience and psychology from Carthage College and has nearly five years of experience tutoring students in math from elementary levels through Algebra 1.
With a goal of becoming a pediatric neuropsychologist, Callie is passionate about working with children and helping them learn and grow. She enjoys trying new coffee shops and spending time with friends when she’s not at the center.
Reese is currently a senior at Borden High School. She is on track to earn her academic honors diploma and plans to study Biology at Indiana University next fall. She is very passionate about math and working with students. Her favorite part about tutoring is when students begin to understand something for the first time, sparking an interest in math that replaces fear of math. In her free time, Reese enjoys playing sports, reading and spending time with friends and family.
Cody graduated from Indiana University Southeast with a BA in Secondary Education and a minor in Mathematics. His hobbies include video games, reading and watching football. Currently, his favorite video game is Overwatch; his favorite video game of all time is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Cody's favorite book series is a fantasy series called Ascendance of a Bookworm, and he absolutely loves cheering on the Tennessee Titans. He looks forward to helping your kids become future mathematicians, engineers or whatever it is they truly want to be.
