Larry Martinek is the educator behind the proven teaching approach used at every Mathnasium Learning Center. As a teacher, administrator, and father, he spent over 40 years developing a better way to teach math—one that helps children truly understand and enjoy it.
From this work, he created the Mathnasium Method™, which focuses on number sense, conceptual understanding, and confidence-building. His legacy lives on in every lesson, helping students develop stronger math skills, greater self-confidence, and a lasting love of learning.
Aleen is the Center Director at Mathnasium, where she brings creativity, adaptability, and a student-focused approach to every interaction. She studied Finance at the University of Houston and has prior experience teaching math at Eye Level Learning Center, where she worked closely with students of all ages.
Aleen is passionate about helping students succeed in math and build lifelong confidence. Her goal is to make math engaging, clear, and fun for everyone who walks through the door. Outside of Mathnasium, she enjoys volunteering and playing throwball.
Our instructors come from a variety of backgrounds, including certified teachers, retirees, college students, and standout high schoolers. Each instructor completes a rigorous selection process, including assessments, background checks, and trial sessions to ensure they meet Mathnasium’s high standards.
