LaShaude James is the proud owner and Center Director at Mathnasium, with over 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages. He’s passionate about helping kids build confidence, grow in skill, and discover their potential through math.
As a husband, father of two, and local church educator, LaShaude brings heart, creativity, and leadership to everything he does. When he’s not in the center, you might find him performing magic tricks or finding fun new ways to teach big ideas. His mission is to make every child feel seen, supported, and excited to learn.
Jim grew up in Michigan and holds degrees in Food Science and Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University. His career included roles in oil refining and food manufacturing, with expertise in designing and starting up new production lines. Most recently, he served as Director of Engineering at CH Guenther in San Antonio before retiring.
A former avid racquetball player and licensed Amateur Radio Operator (WO8I), Jim is enjoying retirement while staying connected to math and learning.
Favorite math joke: “You’ve baked thousands of pies, Dad, and not one of them was square!”
