Mohammad Tasir

Assistant Center Director

Mohammad Yasir is the Assistant Director at Mathnasium. He enjoys helping students grow their confidence in math and creating a fun, supportive learning environment. He’s studying biochemistry with a minor in Finance and values connecting math/science to real-world skills.

Avneet Kaur

Instructor

Avneet is a sophomore at St. John’s University pursuing a degree in Computer Science, a field that blends her love of coding and mathematics. She has enjoyed helping peers with math since high school, where she often assisted classmates in the homework center. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Avneet loves photography and reading. Whether capturing the beauty of nature or immersing herself in a book, she finds inspiration and motivation in her hobbies, which she brings to her work with students. 

Fahim Taleb

Instructor

Fahim is currently studying at Grove School of Engineering at City College of New York. He is studying Computer engineering and has a passion for mathematics and critical thinking. He has past tutoring experience teaching SHSAT, SAT, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Calculus. Working at Mathnasium made him realize that he enjoys teaching math and seeing students understand concepts within math, where he believes that every student can learn Mathematics at its fullest. Fahim’s goal in the future is to become a systems engineer and slowly transition to teaching college-level engineering courses to students. Some hobbies he has is that he loves American football and is a big food fanatic.

Kris Abrahim

Instructor

Kris Abrahim is a math tutor specializing in grades 1-8, with experience as a high school peer tutor in geometry, algebra 1, and algebra 2. Kris enjoys teaching because it helps connect with others to open up the world of math and help them understand that although math can be challenging at times, it can also be extremely fun. Kris is also currently applying to college to major in finance and minor in computer science. Kris's goal in teaching is to ensure kids have a good understanding of math concepts, so they can always apply it when needed. Outside of math, Kris enjoys watching football and baseball, and playing volleyball and doing MMA.
