Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Haya I.

Assistant Center Director

Currently studying Business Management at Fullerton College, Haya brings warmth, patience, and energy to her role as Assistant Center Director. With a natural gift for working with younger students—thanks in part to growing up caring for her many baby cousins—she creates a welcoming and fun environment for learners.

Outside of Mathnasium, Haya enjoys listening to music, trying new restaurants, and playing video games. She’s also a proud Swiftie, often bonding with students over their shared love of Taylor Swift.

Skylar S.

Assistant Center Director

Skylar is a Journalism graduate from Cal State University, Fullerton, and has been surrounded by a family of early childhood educators his whole life. He loves collecting board games and teaching them to friends and family, seeing math as similar to a game or puzzle, learning new concepts and applying them for that “aha” moment of accomplishment.

At Mathnasium, Skylar enjoys helping students build confidence while keeping parents connected to their child’s progress. He has lived in Fullerton since graduating from CSUF and loves being part of the community. Outside of work, he enjoys theme parks, cooking for his wife and child, and going on family walks.

Thao N.

Lead Instructor

Thao is a recent graduate at Cal State University Long Beach with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. She currently volunteers at UCI Health- Fountain Valley Hospital and has plans to apply to nursing school after completing her prerequisites at Cypress College. Thao’s favorite subject in school has always been math; she hopes students can share her passion and love for math through productive and exciting sessions. Outside of math, she likes to play badminton, crochet, and watch movies with her friends.

Kenny A.

Instructor

Kenny is a senior at Hope International University, majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in math. He has experience tutoring students across various grade levels and is passionate about becoming a high school math teacher.

Helping students reach their “aha” moments and overcome challenges is what fuels his love for teaching. In his spare time, Kenny enjoys watching baseball and football, attending concerts, and connecting with others through shared interests.

Avishi B.

Instructor

Avishi is currently a freshman at Fullerton Community College studying Architecture. She plans on transferring to UCLA or UC Berkeley. Avishi loves teaching students and her favorite subject in math is Geometry. Avishi has taught students math all throughout high school and majority of middle school. Outside of math Avishi enjoys music, art, singing, and roller-skating.

Joshua S.

Instructor

Joshua is currently a junior at Cal State University Fullerton, majoring in computer science. Originally from Orange County, he graduated from Samueli Academy, a charter high school with an emphasis on design and engineering. He is excited about pursuing a career as a software engineer after graduation. In his free time, Joshua enjoys developing side coding projects, trying new foods, and spending time with friends.

Carlos E.

Instructor

Carlos is currently a student at Fullerton College, majoring in chemistry. He enjoys listening to music and hanging out with friends. His goal is to become a high school chemistry teacher, aiming to be a positive role model for students and to demonstrate how exciting chemistry can be! Carlos believes that math plays a crucial role in understanding chemistry, as it helps explain concepts like chemical reactions and formulas. This connection between math and chemistry is part of the reason he wants to work at Mathnasium—he’s eager to help students strengthen their math skills and see how they apply to real-world sciences. In his spare time, Carlos loves hitting the gym, shopping at thrift stores, and attending local band shows.
