Maria holds an MBA in Banking and Finance and has led Mathnasium of Garner for over five years. She is passionate about education, numbers, and community involvement and enjoys building strong relationships with families. Maria brings a thoughtful, supportive leadership style to her work with students.
Beyond Mathnasium, Maria has supported women’s empowerment initiatives and medical mission work. She is a devoted parent of two and enjoys staying involved in her children’s schools while inspiring students to grow in confidence and skill.
Dylan earned his degree in mathematics from North Carolina State University and has enjoyed working with students since his time as a camp counselor. He loves puzzles, brainteasers, and creative problem-solving, which naturally align with his teaching approach.
He believes thinking outside the box helps students succeed in math and beyond. As Lead Instructor, he enjoys teaching math in a way that makes sense and helping students develop confidence and flexible thinking skills.
Jonah Bowen is a Mechanical Engineering student at NC State University. He began his academic career by earning his Associate’s at Wake Tech before transitioning to NC State for his undergraduate studies, where he was recently accepted into the Master’s program.
For Jonah, math is an exciting puzzle, but he finds even more joy in the "teaching puzzle"—finding the unique spark that helps a student overcome a difficult challenge. A natural problem-solver with a background as an automotive mechanic and restaurant manager, Jonah spends his free time enjoying classic films, reading, and exploring his eclectic music collection.
Erik is an Aerospace Engineering student at North Carolina State University who has always valued helping others succeed. Through the challenges he encounters in his own coursework, he has come to appreciate the role that perseverance plays in learning and personal growth. Erik hopes to show students that working through difficult material, in math or any other subject, can be an important part of developing their abilities.
Erik also believes that finding enjoyment in the learning process can make a meaningful difference and strives to bring that perspective to every student he works with. Outside of Mathnasium, he enjoys rock climbing, playing video games, and learning new recipes.
Camille is a Civil Engineering student at North Carolina State University with a passion for math and teaching. She has several years of experience tutoring students of all ages through school organizations and Mathnasium. Camille enjoys helping students strengthen their math skills and develop a deeper understanding of challenging concepts.
Camille strives to create a positive learning environment where students can build confidence, learn from their mistakes, and grow to enjoy math. She loves seeing students become more comfortable with problem-solving as they recognize their own progress. Outside of Mathnasium and school, Camille enjoys listening to music, volunteering, and watching movies.
Allison is a junior at North Carolina State University majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering. As an engineering student, she has a strong background in math, including probability and statistics and Calculus I and II. Allison enjoys breaking down complex problems into clear, manageable steps that help students strengthen their understanding of math.
Allison is passionate about helping students build confidence in their abilities and become more comfortable tackling challenging problems. She enjoys seeing students grow as they develop their problem-solving skills and discover what they are capable of. Outside of Mathnasium, Allison enjoys going for runs and spending time with her kitten, Rosie!
Kaylee graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Psychology – Natural Science, where her studies included a variety of science and mathematics courses. While in college, she worked as an organic chemistry tutor and discovered how rewarding it was to guide students through subjects that can initially feel intimidating or difficult.
Having once needed additional support herself when learning probability, Kaylee understands that challenging material can become approachable with patience, persistence, and the right guidance. She hopes to encourage students to approach new challenges with an open mind and recognize that improvement comes with practice. In her free time, Kaylee enjoys reading and going on long walks.
Grey is a current Junior at Enloe High School with a deep-rooted passion for math and physics. Hoping to pursue quantum computing in the future, he greatly values quality STEM education and understands how impactful a great mentor can be.
Grey enjoys helping students look at problems in different ways to help them approach concepts that they may initially find challenging. Outside of the classroom, Grey enjoys technical theatre, studying astronomy, and spending time with his two cats.
Maryam is a sophomore at South Garner High School who has a passion for math and enjoys helping others learn. She likes finding simple and approachable ways to explain new concepts, making math feel less intimidating and more manageable for students.
Maryam believes that patience, encouragement, and consistent effort can help any student make progress in math. She hopes to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through mistakes as they learn. Outside of Mathnasium, Maryam enjoys dancing, singing, playing volleyball, drawing, and spending time with family and friends. In the future, she hopes to pursue a healthcare career.
Aneesh is a junior at Wake STEM Early College High School with interests in engineering and the humanities. Math has always been his favorite subject, and he enjoys challenging himself through advanced coursework. He is passionate about making complex math concepts easier to understand and hopes to help students discover the same interest in math that he has developed.
Aneesh enjoys finding clear, approachable ways to explain difficult concepts and helping students learn from their mistakes. He especially values seeing students grow more confident as they strengthen their understanding and problem-solving skills. Outside of Mathnasium, Aneesh enjoys camping, hiking, and working on robotics.
