Betty is the Owner and Center Director at Mathnasium of Mukilteo. Before opening her center, she worked in the high-tech ecommerce industry at companies like Expedia and Amazon as a Product Manager and Software Engineer. She holds an MBA from the University of Washington and a B.A.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Inspired by her daughter’s learning journey, Betty became a strong believer in the Mathnasium Method™. She’s passionate about helping children build confidence and succeed in math. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, yoga, and spending time with her family.
Ray is the Co-Owner of Mathnasium of Mukilteo and brings more than 20 years of experience in customer service across the airline and financial services industries. He currently serves as a Vice President and Wealth Advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Washington.
Having struggled with math as a child, Ray understands the challenges students face when falling behind. He believes that making math fun and engaging is the key to helping students build confidence and succeed. In his spare time, Ray enjoys fitness, outdoor activities, and family time.
Toko is a senior at the University of Washington pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Fluent in Japanese, she completed 12 years of Japanese education alongside the American system. She brings a unique global perspective to her teaching and enjoys helping students find approaches that make math click for them.
When not at Mathnasium, Toko volunteers at a local animal shelter, spending weekends with rescued dogs. She also loves watching anime, playing RPGs, and taking walks with her own dog.
Rei is the Administrative Assistant at Mathnasium of Mukilteo and brings over five years of experience with Mathnasium centers nationwide. Her favorite aspect of the program is the personalized learning plan, which helps students of all skill levels grow at their own pace.
Known for her creativity, Rei loves cosplaying, baking, and gaming, all hobbies that tie back to her love of problem-solving and math. She enjoys helping students develop confidence in math and beyond, preparing them for success in every area of life.
Richard is an Instructor at Mathnasium. He graduated with his Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida. He is currently a Master student at the University of Washington studying Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has a passion for robotics and research. He joins Mathnasium as an Instructor as he believes mathematics is the language of the universe and as many people as possible should be well versed in it.
Emily is an instructor at Mathnasium Mukilteo. She has almost two years of Mathnasium experience, previously working in the Spokane area. She has recently graduated from Gonzaga University with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and is pursuing a degree in Nursing. Emily loves everything and anything to do with STEM, and wants to use her passion to help others. She is a musician in her free time, and has been playing trombone for roughly 12 years. She also enjoys reading and gaming in her free time.
Nanami is an Instructor at the Mathnasium of Mukilteo. She is currently a student at the University of Washington in her fourth year, majoring in Psychology. She has loved math since she was a child and enjoys helping others understand and feel more confident in it. She grew up in Japan through high school and speaks Japanese as well. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with dogs.
Victor is an Instructor at the Mathnasium of Mukilteo. He is currently a senior at Kamiak High School and the President of Kamiak’s Math Team. Ever since elementary school, Victor has had an interest in the complex logic and functionalities of advanced math. At Mathnasium, he believes students can grow to love math by mastering its concepts and applying them to real-world situations. Victor enjoys playing violin, exercising, and playing video games in his free time.
Shere graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a B.A. in Psychology. After some time in this field she is now finding her passion in STEM and is pursuing an aerospace engineering degree. She is currently attending Edmonds College and is on the underwater robotics team. Shere can be found frequently geeking out about how cool math and science are and can sometimes be found doing math for fun. She is also self learning the violin, likes doing puzzles without the pictures, aims to read at least a 100 books every year, does archery, collects unfinished crochet and embroidery projects, plays video games, and in her spare time enjoys the occasional design and build project.
