Kameel loves seeing students walk into the center excited to do math every day. As a former classroom teacher, she finds nothing more rewarding than watching students feel proud of themselves as they tackle new challenges and master tough concepts.
Her favorite part of the job is witnessing that sense of accomplishment when something finally clicks. For Kameel, creating a learning environment where students feel enthusiastic, confident, and supported is what makes her work at Mathnasium so meaningful.
Scott holds a B.A. from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree from New York University. He brings over ten years of teaching and tutoring experience, working with students ranging from first grade to college-level learners. Scott’s favorite part of math instruction is helping students form a conceptual understanding of new material.
He thrives on those “aha” moments when students gain clarity and confidence. His thoughtful approach to education helps students not only improve their math skills but also develop a deeper appreciation for learning.
Julie brings contagious enthusiasm to her work at Mathnasium, especially when she sees students experience those memorable “lightbulb moments.”
She enjoys helping students connect math to everyday life and values the strong relationships she builds along the way. Julie was the first Education Director at West Newton before taking time to earn her master’s degree. Now back as Director of Operations, she continues to inspire students and staff alike with her passion for math and commitment to student success.
Myrtha holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Information Technology from M.I.T. After a successful career consulting for Oracle, she opened the first Mathnasium Center in Massachusetts.
As a Newton parent, Myrtha understands the community’s high expectations for education, especially in math. Having experienced the rigor of Singapore Math herself, she sought a better, more engaging way to teach her daughter. Today, she is proud that students love coming to Mathnasium, where math makes sense and learning happens in a fun, relaxed environment.
Jun is a passionate math educator who thrives on seeing students experience “aha” moments. He emphasizes logical thinking and enjoys posing challenging, puzzle-like questions that help students stretch their problem-solving skills.
Before joining Mathnasium, Jun worked as a life coach for young adults and continues to bring that supportive energy to his teaching. Outside of work, he plays five musical instruments and performs with his band every Sunday. Jun is excited to help build a fun, engaged math community at Mathnasium of Needham.
