What do you like most about learning?
I love the feeling when all your hard work pays off and something that once felt really challenging suddenly feels easy!
What is the biggest impact you’ve had on a student’s ability to become proficient in math?
I have had the pleasure of watching so many students grow in their confidence in math. It’s incredibly rewarding to see their entire math journey—from their first visit, when they may feel unsure of themselves and math feels like a burden weighing on them, to each visit that follows. Little by little, they chip away at their fear of math and begin to build confidence in themselves and their abilities. Seeing their hard work reflected in their performance, both at school and at Mathnasium, is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
What type of math do you enjoy teaching most?
Numerical fluency
How do you make learning math fun for students?
I make learning math fun by connecting concepts to real-world applications that reflect each student’s unique interests. By showing students how math relates to the things they already enjoy and care about, I help make learning feel more meaningful, exciting, and relevant to them.

What do you like most about learning?
I love learning about how and why the brain processes certain things in certain ways, which is one of the reasons I love helping those of all skill levels when it comes to math. I love hearing how different people process things.
What is the biggest impact you’ve had on a student’s ability to become proficient in math?
I love being able to change a student’s perspective. A few weeks ago, I was helping a student who was working on pre-algebra in 5th grade, and she was getting frustrated. She told me that it’s, “so unfair that I have to do so much harder work.” So, I told her that that’s what I used to think, but then I looked at the positives. How being good at math has set me apart from my peers, helps me in my everyday life and even landed me a great job! She then told me how she wants to be able to think of those positives too and thanked me. Every time I see her now she always has a smile on her face.
What type of math do you enjoy teaching most?
I love teaching pre-algebra and algebra 1, because that’s the math that makes the most sense to me. They understand the foundations, and now it’s time to learn to apply them.
How do you make learning math fun for students?
I love incorporating games, or real life scenarios into their learning. I want every student to look at math and their education as a fun opportunity, rather than something they have to do. I love math and I believe everyone should too!
