Ron is the Owner and Center Director at Mathnasium of Palm Desert. He has Masters of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and he completed the Wealth Mastery executive management program at University of California Berkeley. Ron started his career in the software industry in the Silicon Valley, and he later transitioned into executive management coaching in the health care industry. After decades of working in the corporate world, he decided to pursue his passion for teaching and for mathematics, by bringing Mathnasium to the Coachella Valley. There is nothing more rewarding than guiding young minds and watching them learn and grow. The Mathnasium method is in perfect alignment with Ron’s teaching philosophy where we focus on teaching for understanding and in a way that makes sense to the child. In his spare time, Ron enjoys spending time with his family and his five Pomeranian dogs, also playing piano and electric guitar.
Matt is currently a student at College of the Desert, working towards his physics degree. He grew up in the Coachella Valley, and graduated from La Quinta High School, where he played water polo. As a swim instructor, Matt has learned how to work well with kids, which is a skill he now utilizes at Mathnasium. Matt likes to help kids understand math, especially to find the joy in solving math problems. In his spare time, Matt enjoys reading, hiking, swimming, surfing, and working out at the gym.
Steven has his Associates Degree in Computer Sciences from College of the Desert. He is currently attending California State University, Long Beach working toward his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences. A lifelong resident of La Quinta, Steven excelled at math in school, but it was in college that he gained a true appreciation for the power and utility of math. Steven aspires to help students develop confidence in their math skills, so that they view math as exciting instead of intimidating. In his spare time, Steven enjoys reading, playing video games, and spending time with his cat.
Emmanuel is currently a student at College of the Desert working toward his Associates Degree in Computer Sciences. He is planning to transfer to University of California San Diego, and work toward his Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. Emmanuel has tutored math, physics, and economics while at Palm Desert High School. He inspires students to expand their curiosity and interest in mathematics. In his spare time, Emmanuel loves to play video games, work on coding projects, play chess, and binge watch TV shows.
Kaeden is currently a student at University of California Riverside working towards his Bachelors Degree in Robotics. He has had a love for math since his freshman year of high school, where he consistently was at the top of his class in math. He strives to change his students' mindset that math is too hard, and that it is useless outside of school. In his spare time, Kaeden enjoys to read and write, to cook, to go to concerts, and to create art.
