Alicia brings warmth, expertise, and award-winning leadership to Mathnasium. A University of Houston graduate, she began her career in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, helping children build essential life skills. She now applies her passion for education to guiding students through personalized math instruction that builds confidence and lasting skills.
In 2024, Alicia was named Mathnasium’s Center Director of the Year, chosen out of 1,200 centers nationwide, the first award of its kind in over 20 years. Her dedication, empathy, and tailored teaching approach make her an inspiring presence and a powerful force for student success.
Meet Ms. Madison!
Madison is currently working toward her teaching certification to teach high school math. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a master’s degree in chemical engineering, where she discovered her passion for helping students while working as a teaching assistant. Her favorite part of working at Mathnasium is being able to adapt her teaching to each student and share personalized tips and tricks for solving complex problems. Outside of Mathnasium, Madison enjoys playing video games and board games, spending time with her family, and caring for her three cats who also love math!
Monica is a computer science major with a deep love for math and learning. Before joining Mathnasium, she tutored 3rd and 4th graders in preparation for the STAAR test, where she discovered her passion for helping kids experience those exciting “aha!” moments
Outside of the center, Monica enjoys immersing herself in science fiction and fantasy novels and unwinding with horror movies. She values quality time with her cousins and family, and brings that same sense of warmth and connection into the learning environment at Mathnasium.
Kathleena earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Math Education from the University of St. Thomas. With a passion for both math and mentoring, she brings energy and joy to her role as Lead Instructor.
She finds great fulfillment in watching students light up when they master new concepts. Outside of work, Kathleena enjoys fiction books, TV shows, quality time with family, and a bit of window shopping. Her calm, encouraging style helps students feel empowered in every session.
Joel is a graduating senior at Glenda Dawson High School and will study Exercise Science at the University of Houston. At Mathnasium, he’s known for his upbeat personality and love for helping kids enjoy math.
When he’s not working with students, Joel stays active by working out, playing soccer, and traveling. He especially enjoys spending time with friends and hitting the soccer field. At 6'2", he brings both height and heart to everything he does.
Audrey is a senior at Dawson High School and the friendly face who greets every student at Mathnasium. Her dream is to become a pediatric ultrasound technician, and she brings that same care and attentiveness to her role at the center.
She loves spreading positivity and creating a welcoming environment. Outside of Mathnasium, Audrey enjoys crocheting, painting, and designing her own jewelry. Her creative energy and enthusiasm make her a valued part of the team and a joy to be around.
Meet Stefan, a junior at Dawson High School, currently tackling pre-calculus. He’s no stranger to Mathnasium, having been a student at the Pearland center before stepping into his role as an instructor. Stefan loves how the center feels like a second home, and he’s excited to help others experience the same supportive environment. When he’s not helping students excel in math, you can find him cheering on his favorite sports teams, running with the high school track team, or jamming out on his guitar and piano. Stefan’s blend of academic dedication and creative passion makes him a standout instructor!
Meet Mr. Derek!
Derek is a senior at Dawson High School and plans to study mechanical engineering and nuclear physics in college. His favorite part of working at Mathnasium is watching students grow and learn—just like he did when he was their age. Derek is a member of the track team, enjoys playing the piano, and loves watching movies in his free time.
Meet Ms. Angela!
Angela is a junior at Dawson High School and plans to study chemical engineering in college. Her favorite part of working at Mathnasium is bonding with students and watching them understand and enjoy challenging math concepts. In her free time, Angela enjoys running, ballet dancing, and learning how to sew.
