Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Maria

Assistant Center Director

Maria supports daily operations at Mathnasium of Pembroke Pines and works closely with students, families, and instructors to create a positive learning environment. She is passionate about helping children overcome math anxiety and discover their own problem-solving strengths.

Her ability to connect with students and encourage steady progress makes her a valued member of the team. Maria believes that when students begin to truly understand math, their confidence grows in every subject and beyond the classroom.

Gail

Area Director

Gail brings more than 20 years of experience working with youth to her role as Area Director. Her background in education has shown her how transformative math confidence can be for a child’s overall growth. She believes that success in math strengthens critical thinking, creativity, and resilience—skills that benefit students in every part of life.

Her favorite moments are when students experience that “light bulb” realization and begin to believe in themselves. For Gail, those breakthroughs are a reminder of why she loves her work and continues to support families through the Mathnasium mission.

Jodi

Director of Education

Jodi holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Math from Hope College and earned both a master’s in Math Education and a specialist’s degree in Curriculum and Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, she has taught math from eighth grade through IB Math Studies and is also a certified gifted instructor.

Jodi’s favorite part of teaching is seeing the joy that comes when a student finally grasps a challenging concept. She believes that with the right tools and encouragement, every child can succeed and even learn to love math.

Lauren

Director of Training

Lauren graduated from the University of Central Florida with an Interdisciplinary Studies degree focused on Math Education and Psychology. Her background includes advanced study in Calculus, Differential Equations, and Statistics. She developed her passion for teaching during high school and has continued to nurture it throughout her career.

Since joining Mathnasium in 2011, Lauren has helped countless students and instructors discover that math can be both challenging and enjoyable. She believes in fostering curiosity and confidence so that students see math as something to explore rather than fear.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
