    Mathnasium of Prince Frederick is located in the new Armory Square Plaza, located on Solomons Island Road N, located in building 437. We are right next to Hangry Joe's Chicken and down the row from Always Ice Cream, Jersey Mikes, and First Watch! We're in a family-friendly shopping area with ample parking, making pick-up and drop-off simple and convenient.

  • Do you offer online tutoring?

    Yes! Mathnasium of Prince Frederick offers both in-center and online tutoring. Students can attend live, face-to-face sessions online or in person with the same specially trained tutors. We also have students who are hybrid, where the attend both online and in-center in the same month!  Students who attend online receive the same personalized learning plans and quality of live face-to-face instruction from the same caring tutors they have  in-center. The pricing for both online and in-center are the same.

  • What math classes can our math instructors help with?

    We support students in grades K–12 across a wide range of math classes and topics, from early childhood math and early arithmetic to Algebra and Geometry. We also help adult learners prepare for exams like the ASVAB and GED. Working with our specially trained math instructors at Prince Frederick, many students have transformed how they think and feel about math.

  • What does mathematics tutoring cost at Mathnasium of Prince Frederick?

    We offer math-only tutoring through a flat monthly enrollment fee with no long-term contracts. For the best results, we recommend that most students attend 2–3 sessions per week. To determine the optimal number of weekly sessions for your student, please schedule a free assessment.

  • Do you prepare students for standardized tests?

    Yes. We help students prepare for standardized and school-based math tests—including state exams, ACT®, SAT®, GED®, and ASVAB—by using personalized learning plans, targeted practice, and proven strategies that boost both performance and confidence. These strategies and targeted practice encourage students to build critical thinking skills and learn the "whys" of math.

  • Does Mathnasium assign students homework?

    No. All instruction happens during sessions with our specially trained tutors, so students can make progress without additional take-home assignments.

  • Do you help students with their math homework?

    Yes. During sessions, our tutors set aside time to help students with their math homework, offering guidance and clarification to reinforce learning. It's encouraged for students to send their homework in before their session, of (if possible) take a look before they come in, so that we can maximize problems they need help with and focus on their learning plan.

  • How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use? How does it compare to school standards?

    At Mathnasium of Prince Frederick, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques. Our Checkups align with the national grade level standards. 

    *Our instructors are also aware and trained to help with Calvert County Curriculum, such as Agile Mind, Desmo Math, IXL material, and numerous homeschool curriculum. 

  • Do you work with homeschooled students?

    Yes! We welcome K–12 students from all educational settings, including public schools, private schools, and homeschooling families in the Calvert County Area. We are able to assist with creating math portfolios to demonstrate progress and completion of mastered topics. 

  • Do you work with advanced students or with students who are struggling with math?

    The answer to both of those questions, is yes! We work with students across the entire spectrum of math ability and skill level. 

    Students who are struggling with math receive step-by-step instruction to fill gaps, improve understanding, and rebuild confidence.
