Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Ruth

Lead Instructor

Ruth is a recently retired middle school math teacher from the Sauk Rapids School District. With decades of teaching experience, she brings deep insight, warmth, and expertise to her role at Mathnasium.

Although she officially retired, Ruth couldn’t give up the joy of helping students learn and grow. Her love for math and teaching is evident in every session, and students benefit daily from her dedication.

Calleigh

Lead Instructor

Chuck

Instructor

Chuck is a retired math teacher from the Sauk Rapids School District with a reputation for making math magical. Known affectionately as the “mathematical Dumbledore,” Chuck brings creativity, humor, and wisdom to every session.

Even after retiring, Chuck’s passion for helping students succeed brought him to Mathnasium, where he continues to shape young minds. Halloween is a special favorite; you’ll just have to see it to believe it.

Grace

Instructor

Grace is a senior at Sauk Rapids High School, where she is involved in DECA, Treasurer on their Student Council, and volunteers via MHS. For fun she enjoys math (of course!), walking her dog Sadie, and swimming at the St. Cloud Quarries. Her hidden talent is arm hula hooping, which she learned from her older sister. Grace hopes to study business administration, and eventually work in marketing.

Michael

Instructor

Michael is a senior at Apollo, where he is on the Math Team there and also part of Apollo's chapter of National Honor Society. Since that is not enough math for him, he is also in the St. Cloud State University Math Club and next year will begin pursuit of his electrical engineering and Chinese language degrees. He has lived nearby in Waite Park his whole life, enjoying hobbies that include Rubick's cubing (yes, he told us to type that), learning more about the Chinese language and culture, and swimming in nearby lakes.

Fun and interesting fact about Michael: He has solved a 9x9 Rubick's cube, and has solved a regular one in 45 seconds (!)

Laina

Instructor

Laina is a junior Violin Performance major at Cedarville University, but is also minoring in Physics for fun.  She loves learning (especially math), and is excited to share that love with younger students.  In her free time she likes to listen to classical music, make jewelry, and drink tea.  A fun fact about her is that she once intentionally spent all day taking an MCA test so that she could skip gym class.

Justin

Instructor

Justin is a lifelong learner and lover of math. He likes to share facts from the random things he has retained, for some reason, over the years. Some of the things he likes to learn about are mathematics (of course), history, geography, and philosophy. He has a passion for education, and enjoys when he sees the excitement as a student figures out a problem for the first time.

One interesting thing about him is that he is 80 inches tall (how many feet and inches is that?). Bonus points for centimeters! ;)

Holden

Instructor

Railey

Social Media Manager

If you've noticed our awesome social media pages, that's because of Railey!  She is originally from St. Cloud, graduating from Tech High school, and most recently from MNSU Mankato, now joining us to share the smiles in our building with the world. English was always her favorite subject, but math was always in the top 3 for this former Math Master. Hobbies and fun things she enjoys doing include water skiing on Grand Lake near Cold Spring, reading, and playing with her two dogs Bones & Ruby!

Andy Ahlschlager

Owner & Center Director

Andy began his Mathnasium journey as an instructor in 2010 and became the proud owner of Mathnasium of St. Cloud in 2017. He enjoys sharing his passion and

Andy lives in St. Cloud with his wife Jenna, their sons Arthur And Oliver, and 4-legged child Lola. He serves on local nonprofit boards and volunteers over 100 hours annually with Junior Achievement and St. Cloud FACT.

Ace

Team Mascot & Confidence Extraordinaire

Ace is the official high-fiver and cheerleader at Mathnasium of St. Cloud. If you don’t give him a high five, he’ll ask you a math question instead!

Whether he's offering encouragement or bringing some lighthearted fun to the Center, Ace is always ready to celebrate student progress and boost math confidence.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
