Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Derek W.

Instructor

Derek graduated from Middleton High School with a perfect GPA and a 36 on the ACT. With parents who are both math professors, he jokes that “math is the family business.” He completed Calculus ABC in high school and took additional math courses at UW–Madison.

Derek served as an in-class math tutor his senior year and was a standout athlete, earning All-State soccer honors. He now attends Brown University, where he studies Applied Mathematics and plays on the varsity soccer team.

Theresa N.

Instructor

Theresa is a junior at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, majoring in Elementary Education with minors in Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Originally from Barrington, Illinois, she knew early on that she wanted to be a teacher.

Her teaching experience includes a semester abroad in Ecuador, tutoring Afghan refugee students, and working with local students through World Relief USA. A passionate environmentalist, Theresa also volunteers with organizations focused on sustainability. Her enthusiasm and teaching skills make her a student favorite at Mathnasium.

Elise H.

Instructor

Elise graduated from Middleton High School with a 3.98 GPA and completed college-level math courses like Linear Algebra and Advanced Calculus through UW–Madison. Her academic excellence earned her a spot in the National Honor Society.

Now a student at Kenyon College, Elise is pursuing a Biochemistry degree on the pre-med track. She is also a member of Kenyon’s nationally ranked Division III swim team. Elise enjoys returning to Mathnasium during school breaks to share her love of math and learning.

Our Mathnasium Mission
