Caroline is a junior at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, double majoring in Economics and Mathematics. Originally from Bettendorf, Iowa, she developed a love for math in high school, excelling through AP Calculus AB and tutoring middle school students.
Her passion for working with children led her to continue tutoring through programs like Badger Volunteers and AmeriCorps Achievement Connections. Caroline also interned for Wisconsin State Senator La Tonya Johnson, researching public policy. She aspires to pursue graduate studies in Public Health Administration.
Derek graduated from Middleton High School with a perfect GPA and a 36 on the ACT. With parents who are both math professors, he jokes that “math is the family business.” He completed Calculus ABC in high school and took additional math courses at UW–Madison.
Derek served as an in-class math tutor his senior year and was a standout athlete, earning All-State soccer honors. He now attends Brown University, where he studies Applied Mathematics and plays on the varsity soccer team.
Theresa is a junior at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, majoring in Elementary Education with minors in Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Originally from Barrington, Illinois, she knew early on that she wanted to be a teacher.
Her teaching experience includes a semester abroad in Ecuador, tutoring Afghan refugee students, and working with local students through World Relief USA. A passionate environmentalist, Theresa also volunteers with organizations focused on sustainability. Her enthusiasm and teaching skills make her a student favorite at Mathnasium.
Elise graduated from Middleton High School with a 3.98 GPA and completed college-level math courses like Linear Algebra and Advanced Calculus through UW–Madison. Her academic excellence earned her a spot in the National Honor Society.
Now a student at Kenyon College, Elise is pursuing a Biochemistry degree on the pre-med track. She is also a member of Kenyon’s nationally ranked Division III swim team. Elise enjoys returning to Mathnasium during school breaks to share her love of math and learning.
