Alex is a graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a degree in Math and Economics (double major). He is currently learning computer science in his free time and hopes to get involved in finance or sports analytics in the future. During his time at UCLA, Alex worked as a Peer Learning Facilitator with the Academic Advancement Program, where he focused on guiding group learning sessions and serving as an academic mentor for undergraduate students. Alex is passionate about education and the science of learning and hopes to foster the idea that learning math is simply a matter of using the right tools and strong effort rather than innate ability. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, reading magazines, and playing board games.
Ei is a Cal Poly Pomona graduate with a degree in Visual Communication Design. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Design and Innovation at CSU Northridge. She has been recognized for her academic and creative achievements, including the Hoeft Scholarship at Arroyo High School and the Bronze Award in the 2024 UDA International Poster Design Competition. Ei enjoys helping young learners discover the fun in math and grow confident in their abilities. In her free time, she loves swimming, traveling, and relaxing with music or movies.
Kaylee is a UCLA graduate majoring in Economics. In the future, Kaylee would like to focus on studying finance and investments. Kaylee is currently a CPA candidate. Kaylee has always enjoyed Mathematics and took Honors and Advanced Placement mathematics courses throughout high school. She hopes to show kids that Math is fun and entertaining. In her free time, Kaylee enjoys listening to music, crocheting, and having picnics with friends and family.
John is currently pursuing a career in real estate while also working toward completing his bachelor’s degree in psychology, balancing both education and professional growth. Previously John worked at Kaiser Permanente’s Youth Program where he attended educational sessions and motivational workshops - working exclusively with younger students to be more engaged and interested in STEM. Beyond his career and academic pursuits, John has a strong interest in traveling, where he enjoys discovering new places and cultures, as well as engaging in creative outlets like movies and music.
Ethan is currently attending UCLA majoring in Computer Science and Linguistics. Previously in summer 2025, Ethan went to New York to serve as a counselor and teaching assistant at BEAM where he mentored incoming 8th-grade students from underserved low-income NYC communities. Outside of school and work, Ethan enjoys hanging out with friends, binge-watching random movies he finds on Netflix, and playing video games. Fun fact: his favorite thing about Mathnasium is greeting the students when they come in and hearing about their day!
Ellie is a graduate from Cal Poly Pomona with Psychology and currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Consumer Psychology/Marketing at USC. She has recently completed Yale University's online Psychology courses. Outside of classroom, Ellie was the first chair violinist in a youth orchestra and participated in numerous festivals and concerts. In her spare time, Ellie enjoys reading thriller and romance novels, watching Korean shows, and baking. Some interesting things about Ellie, she skipped kindergarten and went straight to elementary school. Ellie enjoys working at Mathnasium because of the fun and intuitive interactions with the children, the playful yet focused environment, and the jokes that the students make! Ellie is passionate about graphic design (taking on creative projects in my free time), reading, and finding new tea shops to try.
Emily is currently attending Cal State LA with a major in music performance major and a minor in business finance. Emily aspires to pursue her graduate degree in the future in Business or Arts Management either at USC or NYU. Emily is in the honors college program and was a Herbert Zipper scholar at the Colburn School from 2018-2023 and played in the California All State Honors band. She was recently hired as a music librarian for the Cal State LA wind ensemble and jazz band. During her spare time, Emily loves roller skating, reading, writing music, and playing video games. She is passionate about giving back to her community and regularly volunteer at local nonprofits and arts organizations.
Chang is a UC Berkeley graduate majoring in Compute Science (with a minor in Data Science). He is currently working on developing a mobile fitness application and aspires to be a tech startup founder in the future. Chang enjoys various team sports and work out such as volleyball and basketball, and kickboxing. Chang works very well with older students, particularly those who are above pre-Algebra and beyond.
Jessica is a graduate from UC Riverside with a degree in Computer Science. She is currently applying for a graduate degree in Data Science. Jessica is very versatile working with those in kindergarten to those who are doing advanced Math classes in high school. During her free time, she enjoys crocheting, opening blind boxes and collecting figures and plushies of her favorite characters.
Justin is a graduate from Northwester University with a degree in Computer Science. He aspires to pursue a career in either software development, data analysis or education in the future. Previously, Justin worked for a research lab that developed was and algorithm used in Minecraft as an education resource to teach students the importance of critical thinking skills. In his spare time, Justin loves to play board games, tennis and watching shows.
Sierra is a Cal State Long Beach graduate with a major in Biology. She is currently attending a Master of Science program in Criminalistics with the goal of working as a forensic lab technician, particularly in the DNA unit. During her spare time, Sierra likes to read books and watch reality competition shows.
Brandon is a Cal Poly Pomona graduate with a degree in Computer Science with a focus in data science and data analytics. After graduation, Brandon aspires to build a career in data analysis or data science, applying his skills to drive innovation within the STEM industry. Previously, he worked on a consulting project for an energy company. In his senior year, he developed and parallelized a deep learning model for anomaly detection for his graduating project. Outside of academics and Brandon enjoys exploring cafés and trying different types of coffee and matcha, hiking and spending time outdoors.
Cindy is currently attending PCC and pursuing a degree in Engineering. Previously, Cindy was involved in the HelioTech at Temple City HS and went to the competition in the annual Solar Car Challenge in Texas. In her spare time, Cindy loves to write analysis essays.
Aiden is currently pursuing a career in healthcare and aspires to be a physician in the future. He is currently working on transferring to UCLA. In the past, Aiden coached multiple 6-8 year old boys soccer teams in the local sponsored team and also trained multiple new Health Scholars in the COPE Health Scholar Program at Adventist Health Glendale. During his spare time, Aiden enjoys spending time with his friends and currently trying to find the time to pick back up learning his Mandarin.
Elizabeth is a rising senior high school student and currently taking dual enrollment courses at East Los Angeles College. She is interested in studying political science, with a focus on international relations. Elizabeth has taken college-level math and has been recognized on the President's Honors List at ELAC. In addition, she completed the Certificate of Merit Level 10 for piano and received State Honors. In her free time, Elizabeth likes jogging, sewing, and playing volleyball. She enjoys learning Chinese and hopes to study more languages in the future.
Joseph is currently attending Pasadena City College pursuing either applied mathematics or mechanical engineering. Joseph is very interested in problem solving, design, and understanding how things work. In his spare time, Joseph enjoys playing ping-pong and badminton, which keep him active and also sharpen his focus and reflexes. Beyond sports, he also likes reading comics and novels in Chinese.
Irene is currently attending Arcadia High School, working hard to excel both academically and within her school community. After high school, she hopes to pursue a career that combines her interest in finance and psychology. At school, Irene is enrolled in multiple Advance Placement & Honors courses and won has 2 SuperIntendents Art Awards. Irene is a Varsity Cross Country runner, the Vice President of the Financial Literacy Club and the Vice President of Arcadia IgniteHer, which helped raise 100+ donations for organizations in need. In her free time she loves to build jigsaw puzzles, exploring new local cafes while updating her favorites, and going on random side quests with her mom!
Vivian is a rising senior at Temple City HS. In the future, she aspires to pursue a double major in business and mechanical engineering. Vivian is currently the president of STEMsters and Girls Who Code Club. Previously, Vivian received the College Board National School Recognition Award and top scores in Physics, Calculus, and other STEM related subjects. Vivian is also a National Center for Women in Technology Los Angeles Honorable Mention Recipient. In her spare time, she likes to bake, go to the gym, and volunteer at STEM lessons. I also enjoy going to concerts with her friends.
Ashley is a rising senior in Temple City High School and have aspirations to become involved in healthcare in the future, considering physician assistant. Have interests towards pediatrics and nutrition as well due to her memorable experience/relationship with her pediatrician and firsthand witness of immediate family’s health concerns derived from nutritional negligence. She is currently leading the Yearbook staff as Editor in Chief and competing in Science Olympiad studying for anatomy, genetics, and entomology. In her spare time, Ashley likes to write poetry. She also appreciates maintaining relationships and love chatting/ catching up with her distanced friends in Taiwan and Las Vegas, and spending time with friends and family in general.
