Ernie Lawley

Owner

Ernie is Co-Owner of Mathnasium of Upper Marlboro and brings a deep passion for math education. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Western Washington University and a master’s in statistics from American University. His favorite math subject is number theory, and he has completed advanced coursework in partial differential equations. Ernie loves supporting parents and students on their journey to math success.  

When he’s not at Mathnasium, he enjoys playing guitar, solving Rubik’s cubes, and spending time with his daughters.

Aiden

Lead Instructor

Aiden is a Lead Instructor at Mathnasium of Upper Marlboro. He studied Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and completed advanced math coursework such as Differential Equations and Numerical Methods. Aiden enjoys guiding students through challenging math problems and especially appreciates the interactive nature of his role. He believes learning math can be fun when it’s active and engaging.  

Outside the center, Aiden spends his time playing video games, sailing, and exploring chemistry.

Nixon

Instructor

Nixon is an Instructor at Mathnasium of Upper Marlboro and a high school student who has completed honors pre-calculus. His favorite subject is Algebra 2, and he plans to pursue actuarial science or financial engineering at a top university.  

Nixon enjoys connecting with students and helping them build confidence in math. He brings energy and enthusiasm to every session. Outside of Mathnasium, he enjoys baseball, pickup basketball, video games, and designing clothing from his thrift finds.

Quinn

Lead Instructor

Quinn is a Lead Instructor at Mathnasium of Upper Marlboro. She is currently studying Baking and Pastry Arts at Anne Arundel Community College and has completed Calculus 2. Quinn’s favorite topic to teach is Algebra 2, and she loves incorporating fun math games into sessions with students.  

Her favorite part of the job is creating “lightbulb moments” and helping students find joy in learning math. In her free time, Quinn enjoys reading fantasy novels and going ice skating.
