What do you like most about learning?
There is always something new to learn. What I like the most about being a teacher is that I am constantly learning new things and teaching them to our students. Learning brings me closer to my students and my community.
What is the biggest impact you’ve had on a student’s ability to become proficient in math?
When I was learning math as a kid, I struggled with it. When I finally understood it and overcame it, I was able to identify which parts of the problem were difficult and I could take it apart and teach it step by step to my students. This way my students were able to understand and enjoy math.
What type of math do you enjoy teaching most?
Pre-calculus and Algebra before Mathnasium. Since joining Mathnasium, I have found a passion for teaching grades 1 to 4.
How do you make learning math fun for students?
We eat snacks, we practice techniques and we implement them, we do challenges, and we make correlations between the new topics and the topics we have worked on previously.

What do you like most about learning?
Learning is a two-way street: not only do students learn from their teachers, but teachers also learn about themselves from their students and are always making new discoveries about their subject through their teaching. Also, learning is an ongoing process that continues for our entire lives!
What is the biggest impact you’ve had on a student’s ability to become proficient in math?
I’ve had several students who wanted nothing to do with math and who had a very low confidence level in math when I first started with them, but by the time I finished teaching them they looked forward to coming to math class and their grades improved dramatically.
How do you make learning math fun for students?
I love to teach my students fun mental math tricks that help them to see the connections between numbers and make math interesting for them!
Make jokes and be funny!
When students are doing well, I believe in praising and rewarding them!

How do you make learning math fun for students?
What I do for students to find math fun is to link the problems to real life. I embed math to everything in their daily life, and that way they can understand the concepts better.
